Submission of the Month: OPHELIA REBORN

Hey friends :)

As promised in my last post, the tradition of organizing a photoshoot each month for magazine submission and/or feature on the blog, began in July. So the submission of the month:

OPHELIA REBORN for Giuseppina Magazine.

The theme proposed by the magazine was actually Ophelia but I decided to put an African goddess spin on it with an awesome team of African women. In the end our entry wasn't chosen but the excitement of having an idea come to life is always worth it.

ANYWAY. Our concept was that Ophelia (of Shakespeare's Hamlet who drowned herself in a stream, gets reborn as Yemaya, the Yoruba goddess of the ocean).

The Team

Awuor on photographs. Liz on make-up. Nadia styling. My sister Deb assisted.

What do you guys think? I'm excited about what we got done with a few days' planning and virtually no budget ;P

Keep your eyes open for a behind-the-scenes post soon!

Stay Golden ;)
