DIY City Experiences in Nairobi & Zanzibar: My Work Published on Touring Bird! // FrameAmbition

Hello, hello!

Here we go, some freelance work to finance those adventures I’m always talking about - I did a thing and got published on Area 120 by Google’s new travel planning tool, Touring Bird!

One of my (many) jobs that lets me work from anywhere so I can travel at the same time is being a freelance writer (see my published work here) and while I’m not quite where I want to be in terms of getting regular work and earnings from being a travel writer, gigs like this give me hope.

Me wishing for more of these gigs so I can stop choosing between travel and health insurance.

I stumbled on the gig on an online job board (I couldn’t tell you which one, I follow SO many), applied and got the offer! I must give props to the team at Touring Bird and Once in a Lifetime Media for their professionalism, support and timely payment(!). Not a thing to take for granted!

You can go on the website, search any city and find cool activities and sites, tours and less-known local tips complete with price ranges and the time to set aside for each - all at your fingertips on one site.

I got to write several tips on two of my favourite places - NairoBAE city and Zanzibar island - I dove deep into some cool experiences in both places like a legendary record store, a double-decker bus hotel and a secret island ;)

Check them out, let me know your thoughts and send the website to your friends who are travelling and may want some tips they might not hear anywhere else.

Contact me here if you’re on the lookout for a travel writer!

Be cool,

Julie.

xx
